Nasreen Jessani is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa, with involvement in health policy and systems research (HPSR) endeavours that include evidence to action activities across the continent. In addition to being faculty at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Centre for Evidence Based Health Care at Stellenbosch University, she also provides capacity strengthening support to WHO partners on knowledge translation. Nasreen has been involved in the EIDM field for several years, including as program officer for Canada's International Development Research Center (IDRC), where she managed a portfolio of projects across East and Southern Africa that spanned issues of governance and equity in health systems. She is the co-editor of the Knowledge Translation toolkit and interested in the nexus of evidence, policy, public health, and higher education.
Research to Action (R2A) is a website catering for the strategic and practical needs of people trying to improve the uptake of development research, in particular those funded by DFID.
We have structured the site and populated it with material that we think will be immediately useful to this audience, but also to development researchers in general who would like to be more strategic and effective in their communications.
R2A is produced by a small editorial team, led by CommsConsult. We welcome suggestions for and contributions to the site.
