ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you looking to join a team seeking to bring change in the humanitarian sector and support Start Network to position themselves in the centre of high-level influencing spaces to advocate for a more locally led, innovative and proactive system. If so, Start Network has an exciting opportunity for an External Engagement and Advocacy Officer to join the team!

The role will focus on supporting the Advocacy team to build and maintain relationships with different stakeholders and be a creative thinker to help strengthen our advocacy, policy, and campaigning activities to unlock new and exciting opportunities. The role will also support in representing Start Network in key working groups and research and advise on new opportunities relevant to the organsation.

We are looking for someone who can manage multiple deadlines and have a proactive attitude. Being a highly motivated is a must to help create and manage relationships at different levels both internally and externally. Experience within the humanitarian, development and/or human rights sector with a passion to make a difference in the sector is key! If you are interested in this role, we’d love to hear from you.

WHAT IS START NETWORK?

Start Network is a global membership of over 80 organisations, working across six continents, to tackle what we see as the biggest systemic problems in the global humanitarian system. Start Network is an independent charity. We also work with Save the Children UK, which acts a grant custodian for Start Network.

Start Network’s vision is for a locally led humanitarian system that is accountable to people affected by and at risk of crises. We aim to achieve this vision by making system-level shifts in how humanitarian assistance is approached and delivered.
