Job Opportunity: Africa Research Institute seeks Policy Researcher

Africa Research Institute (ARI) is seeking to recruit an experienced Policy Researcher. As part of a small, collaborative team, you will oversee diverse projects from initial research to final editing and publication. ARI works with external contributors to produce topical publications in a variety of formats. Applicants should have substantial experience in writing for non-academic audiences. Examples of published work must be submitted with all applications.

ARI has an established and ongoing interest in urban development, agriculture, health, parliamentary and electoral institutions, taxation, and emerging developmental partnerships. Knowledge and experience of any of these areas – or a related subject – is highly desirable and will be look upon favourably.

A detailed, and nuanced, understanding of contemporary sub-Saharan African affairs is essential. You will have lived and/or worked in at least one sub-Saharan African country. Fresh ideas for disseminating ARI’s work would be an advantage. Applicants should be self-motivated, meticulous, organised and able to represent ARI credibly with our contributors and at public events – in the UK and Africa.
