Farai Samhungu discusses her role on the 3ie Policy and Influence Monitoring (PIM) project

By Research to Action 25/09/2012

Captured at the 3ie Policy and Influence Monitoring (PIM) workshop taking place in Cornwall this week, in this short video, Farai Samhungu, the Director of CommsConsult Africa, discusses her role on the 3ie PIM project over the last six months. The Policy Influence Monitoring (PIM) project is a three year global project funded by the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) to monitor and evaluate the policy influence of the impact evaluations that they fund across Africa, South and South East Asia and Latin America, and to do this in a way which helps the researchers to maximise the value and impact of their Impact Evaluations.

Much of the work Farai and her team have been doing to date has focussed on mapping the documentation of the thirty-seven 3ie grantees from across Africa. This stage of the project has been intensive, and Farai is keen to move onto the next phase of the mapping process, which will involve interviewing the grantees, with far more interaction and communication.

Farai believes that the PIM team really have to invest some time in understanding the policy context of the projects in order to understand the communication landscapes they are working with. She, along with the rest of her team members, is excited about bringing the grantees together in Cornwall and what this week’s workshop will achieve.
