Role overview

The Marketing and Communications Project Coordinator is a crucial role, linking VSO’s Marketing Team with the rest of the organisation. You will be responsible to consulting with key internal stakeholders around the world to identify, prioritise and manage marketing and communications support needs throughout the year. Working closely with the Creative Designer and Content Producers you will schedule and oversee brand and communications projects to ensure organisational objectives are achieved. Excellent project management and relationship building skills are therefore essential. In addition you will be responsible for reviewing and updating Brand Team processes to improve efficiencies, providing brand guardianship, managing a schedule of creative freelancers and agencies, overseeing merchandising processes, and providing communications support to internal teams.

Skills, qualifications and experience

Skills and Experience

Essential
Experience of managing projects, including work planning and scheduling.
Significant problem-solving skills. Able to handle multiple projects.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to communicate sensitively and assertively with a wide range of stakeholders and across distances.

Experienced in developing and interpreting communications briefs, with solid organisational skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Previous experience of print buying and project management in a large and complex organisation. In depth knowledge of production methods both litho and digital.

Experience of managing agencies and freelancers including designers, copywriters, illustrators, photographers and directors.

Skilled communicator with an ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.

Desirable

Experience in a web development environment, delivering a range of digital marketing collateral

Experience of working in an international environment and understanding of international development issues and especially with regard to their portrayal in a creative context.
