Multi-channel communications are crucial to Amnesty International UK’s success. We’re looking for a skilled Head of Communications and Engagement maternity cover who can tackle a complex and varied communications challenge that covers everything from social media and traditional print, to delivering our communication strategy and increasing awareness of our brand.
About the role
As our Head of Communications and Engagement you will lead our strategic communications to drive the impact of our campaigns, grow our movement and profile and increase our influence. This key, senior role will see you take responsibility for our overall communications strategy and planning, all our digital activities and the leadership of our brand. You will also oversee all our print design and editorial work including our magazine and all of our video and audio production.
Alongside being a member of our Leadership Team, you will also be active on an operational level, leading a large, multi-disciplinary creative team to produce audience-centred communications. Innovation and best practice will be at the heart of your work. The day-to-day challenges that this role faces will be diverse.
About you
You have extensive experience as a senior communications professional in a similar role, either inside or outside the third sector. You are an effective team manager with experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams. You can manage digital marketing functions; substantial budgets; cross-organisational projects; and marketing programmes across online and offline channels. With your expert knowledge of your field, you’ll have the credibility to guide senior creatives and work with Amnesty International leaders. You’ll also be adept at managing suppliers, motivating teams and interpreting data. A strategic, innovative thinker, with a gift for dealing with people, you’ll be keen to stretch your talents and make a difference in an influential role.
