It is not unreasonable to claim that the world is not listening to those talking about the climate emergency. If they are listening, they are not paying attention.
The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism recently celebrated World Radio Day 2025, which took climate change as its theme, to ask journalists how they covered stories in their part of the world. They all spoke about radio’s incredible superpower: a medium that can whisper in your ear, echo from the corner of the kitchen, or shout from the speakers of a bus.
