Megan Lloyd-Laney

Megan Lloyd-Laney is the Director and co-founder of CommsConsult, a consultancy that specialises in all aspects of strategic communication for development which has offices in the UK and Zimbabwe. She has been, at different stages of her career, a science journalist, a policymaker, an NGO development worker and a trainer. She has worked as a Communication Advisor for the UK government’s Department for International Development (DFID); led teams that help policymakers such as the World Bank to understand and meet demand for information; and advised INGOs on knowledge management and working at the interface between research and decision-making. She has, with CommsConsult colleagues, trained more than 1000 researchers and policymakers in different aspects of ‘influencing’, and written a number of Toolkits aimed at improving people’s use of strategic communication to achieve their development objectives. In 2020 she wrote the Communication and Engagement Strategy for UNHCR Evaluation Services. Megan lived and worked for many years in both Zambia and Zimbabwe. She has lived for the last 30 years in Cornwall, England.
