The emerging trend to incorporate knowledge in policymaking and implementation faces challenges as well as opportunities. The complexity of policymaking, with many players intervening in the process with their interests and resources, means that the interaction between the available knowledge and its creators and users will vary in diverse contexts. Therefore agents of change will need to effectively interplay with politics, and develop various skills to match evidence with decisions and policy management.
The online course “Leaders of change: helping African policymakers develop their capacity to promote the use of knowledge in policy” is starting on March 28th.
Through this call, Politics & Ideas, the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) and the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP) will support, with full scholarships, the involvement of those public officials from Ghana, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe interested in promoting the use of knowledge in their organisations through their participation in this online course (limited places).
For further information on the course’s background, objectives, learning methodology and content structure see the attached Terms of References. For additional queries, please write to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline to submit applications is March 2nd, 2016 (inclusive).
