Louise Shaxson from Delta Partnership discusses the importance of Research Communication. She believes that good evidence based policy making is not simply about drawing conclusions from a group of statements or a set of data. Instead, policy making requires a real understanding of the line of argument taken and also a considered approach to challenges that might present themselves and how they could be addressed.
During the Global Development Network’s 12th Annual Conference in Bogota, Columbia, Louise Shaxson was very impressed with policy proposals put forward by the Awards and Medals Finalists. Every year, GDN awards research funding prizes to researchers from the Global South. The finalists are selected from hundreds of applications from a diverse range of countries.
