Knowledge Management Unit Overview

Itad’s Knowledge Hub leads on knowledge management, learning, communications and branding, both within Itad and externally, and plays a core role in maintaining technical quality of our work. Our growing, multi-disciplinary team includes monitoring and evaluation consultants and learning facilitators, as well as experts on information technology, communications, branding and design. The Knowledge Hub supports staff across the company to effectively capture and share knowledge through improved systems and tools. The team also supports company learning through internal communications and events, and helps staff deliver high quality work through technical support, training and quality assurance.

Externally, Knowledge Hub manages the development and sharing of high quality, innovative research based on our exciting project work, and contributes to knowledge and debate on monitoring, evaluation and learning in international development.

The Role

Knowledge Hub consultants work across the five Itad practice areas on a wide range of different project assignments. Approximately two thirds of your time will be spent on research, monitoring and evaluation consultancy and project management, with an additional focus on learning and / or communications. One third of your time will be spent supporting company-level knowledge management and learning, including through synthesising knowledge from our work into clear, accessible products for internal and external audiences; developing systems and approaches to promote a culture of learning within Itad; supporting quality assurance; and facilitating communications and learning.

  • The core technical strengths for Knowledge Hub consultants are focused around four key areas:
  • Technical expert: promoting technical rigour and methodological innovation through involvement in the design and delivery of Itad projects, and ensuring learning from our work is utilised.
  • Learning facilitator: actively support a cross-company culture of learning and reflection to drive continuous improvement.
  • Communications and branding champion: enhancing Itad’s reputation and identity through innovative communications and learning approaches.
  • Knowledge manager: Developing and championing systems and processes to capture knowledge and share learning both within projects and across the company.

The Candidate

Ideally you will have a post-graduate degree in a relevant subject with a track record in monitoring and evaluation. You will have a strong background in collecting and analysing data, and will have applied this to generate clear evidence-based insights. You will have an interest in working across a range of Itad’s practices, creating opportunities for cross-company learning.  Candidates should also have experience in capturing and synthesising learning to produce knowledge products and / or facilitating learning and reflection processes.

The salary for this role is up to £32K, depending on your skills and experience. This role is based at our office in Hove, approximately one hour from London.
