Job Opportunity: John Innes Centre seeks Digital Channels Specialist

The John Innes Centre and The Sainsbury Laboratory are looking for a Digital Channels Specialist to help develop and communicate key messages and news and inspire the public through digital channels and social media.

The post holder will be working alongside world-leading scientists in the field of plant science and microbiology, helping extend the reach of their science through innovative and inspirational communications.

As well as the hands-on administration and development of the website, social media channels and video production, the successful candidate will know how to get the best from digital channels – which one(s) to use in different situations and how to get the message across most effectively to meet communications objectives.

The post holder will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team, alongside colleagues working with press and media, public relations, strategic communications, science communication and outreach activities with the public and schools.

Candidates are required to be educated to degree level or equivalent and have up to date knowledge of digital channels. The successful candidate will also have the ability to uphold the standards within the Institute’s Personal Attributes Framework, including Communication, Working Together, Excellence, Respect, Taking Responsibility and Leadership. Salary on appointment will be within the range £30,500 to £37,500 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.  This post is for an indefinite contract.
